Your documents never leave your device. Files are opened, read and spoken entirely inside your browser. There is no server, no account, no sign-up, no analytics, and no upload.
You don't have to take our word for it. This page tells your browser
to block every outgoing network connection (connect-src 'none').
Even if this app wanted to send your file somewhere, your browser would refuse to
let it. The PDF and Word readers are bundled in too β nothing is loaded from
anyone else's server.
It works offline. After your first visit the whole app is saved on your device. Switch on Airplane Mode and it still reads your books β which is the simplest proof that nothing is being sent anywhere.

The one thing that touches the network is downloading the app itself the first time you open it β whoever hosts it sees that request, exactly like any other website. Your documents are never part of it. Prefer to trust nobody? Read the source or host your own copy.
